How Elite Dental Medical Billing Can Help with Insurance Eligibility Verification
Here at Elite Dental Medical Billing, we understand that dentists have a lot on their plates. In addition to providing top-notch dental care to their patients, they also have to worry about the administrative side of things – including insurance eligibility verification.
What Is Insurance Verification?
For those who are unfamiliar, insurance verification is the process in which a medical billing team determines a patient’s insurance coverage for medical services, as well as the patient’s financial responsibility. This is an important step to take before scheduling any services, as it ensures that both the dentist and the patient are on the same page when it comes to coverage and payment.
Unfortunately, insurance eligibility verification can be a time-consuming and complicated process – one that many dentists simply don’t have the bandwidth to take on. That’s where we come in. Our team of expert medical billers can handle all of your insurance verification needs, so you can focus on what you do best: providing quality dental care to your patients.
Insurance Verification for Dental Claims
For verification, we log in and complete verification for all clients 2 days prior to the appointment. We can do 1-3 days prior depending on your office’s preferences. The office customizes their benefit check form and lets us know exactly how they want their information verified. We verify the insurance and do complete breakdowns annually on all plans (this allows an office to be able to provide correct quotes on treatment plans if treatment changes). We enter this into the DPMS and enter notes into the appointment for specific eligibility. This is a white glove service for dental practices.
Insurance Verification for Medical Claims
We offer 2 options for insurance verification regarding medical claims. One option is that your office uses our website only and is able to verify insurance yourself. You would complete any pre-certifications required by the insurance and track this. Another option, is that we complete the insurance verification and request any pre-certification necessary. If we complete the pre-certification request, we work with your office and the insurance company until it is processed and the patient is ready to schedule for treatment. We remotely log in to get any information, and your office would put in a request on the website or app with patient info and suspected diagnosis code and procedure code.
